EVENT
INTRO
Breaking news! The Old World diner at the Sunspire Dock east side of town was finally cleaned up after centuries of neglect. Shout-out to Azul Ashengrotto for making this happen! Local Sunfolk were quick to spread the word about the restored diner, gathering an incredible crowd eager to check out its spruced-up interior and even more eager to see its new menu.
One citizen remarks, “A step in the right direction; this town needs more dine-in eateries! The Lusty Lizard is always full!” Another one comments, “Glad to see our newcomers already contributing to society. I had doubts about accepting them into our community — we have enough problems — but this changed my mind.”
However, not all of the attention received has been positive in nature. A local gang of pirates called the Dune Riders has come to ransack the diner of its supplies and fanta caps! The dock is still in a sorry state, but that doesn’t stop the pirates from ramming their ship against it to forcibly park their large vessel and raid the place.
Welcome to Glykia, you poor, unfortunate soul. Where did you end up? In someone’s bed within Sunspire? Or out in the wilderness? Hope you’re not stuck in the middle of a camp owned by extremely hungry makaras. If you’re outside Sunspire, the shining pyramid in the distance will guide you to your new home.
The winds are very active at this time of year, and sandstorms can be seen at least once daily. Daytime remains hot, but the nights have started to grow colder, bringing with it rain and hail of varied sizes, typically those of golf or tennis balls. Be sure to find a safe spot indoors as the temperature starts to plummet in the late afternoons.

Warning: This Prompt is Rated ARRRRR!
Remember your fluffy, ball-shaped roommates? The researchers from SEAMEN uncovered the reason the phujis left their homes; the report states their habitat near the coastlines have been pillaged. Phujis are naturally attracted to shiny objects and collects them, a behavior that certain unsavory folks are eager to take advantage of, as the Dune Riders tend to steal whatever they can if they can get away with it.
According to the Paladin Guild, the Dune Riders’ raids haven’t been going well lately — the other day, they got their asses kicked by a group of makaras — so they’ve been desperately focused on low-stakes gigs. Picking on little phujis or aiming for those traveling alone are just among one of the many antics they’ve pulled as of late.
The Paladin Guild has issued many notices across Sunspire to keep safe from the pirates, telling people not to go anywhere without at least one companion, to never bring up makaras around them, and to have their guard up even within the boundaries of Sunspire. There might be pirates trying to blend in as Sunfolk!
Your Better Work, Bitch

New tasks and jobs around the town include the following:
- City Hall has posted a job listing for able-bodied explorers. With more willing participants recently appearing to do spelunking, they want more volunteers to explore the areas beyond Sunspire. Aside from any excavated relics or materials, any information they can submit will also be paid in fanta caps. Local shops and the SEAMEN Research Center are always willing to buy Old World relics and materials, with the latter also purchasing information. Any monster reports or unusual activity sightings, these can be sold as information to the Paladin Guild. More job listings related to monster hunting or criminal watches can also be found there.
- Following the previous spelunking at the old Galaxydeer Coffee ruins during the sugar search, the coffee market has slightly improved. Thanks to a couple of espresso machines brought back and donated by adventurers, some family-run hawker stalls have started to thrive. The Sunfolk have never tasted such textures before! Overnight, a sudden influx of caffeine addicts has formed. These hawker stalls are starting to get longer waiting lines and they’re not accustomed to serving so many customers at once! Part-time baristas are now wanted by these families. If you know how to work any of the machinery or can brew a mean coffee, by all means, step in and help out. Supplies are limited, but people still line up for whatever coffee can be squeezed out of the local beans.
- The Sunfolk have noticed the phuji population's uptick. They tell you that phujis release a kind of sweet substance that can be used for hygienic purposes. Products such as baby powder, deodorant powder, and powdered shampoo can be created with this substance, and because of the hot climate, this is always in demand. It’s time for you to shake those phujis like polaroid pictures to drain them of their magical dandruff.
- The Seraphim believe Akekhu’s anger is responsible for the volatile hailstorms and have been looking for a few people to help them with a ritual spell that involves elaborate dancing and skimpy costumes. If interested, please inquire inside the giant glass pyramid and get ready to bust-a-move to save the city. Spoiler alert: This ritual will only enrage the dragon further. He doesn’t like being bothered with the Seraphim's shenanigans.
Oh, what can it mean to a daydream believer?

When characters go to sleep anytime between now and the next event, they may dream about one of the following:
- It’s the first day of spring, and anime school is about to start. The sakura petals are falling, and you hope your most beloved senpai will finally notice… that the sakura petals are falling from betwixt your lips. Yes, you have some sort of affliction where every time you are around the schoolmate in question, you feel overwhelmed with both sorrow and desire to the point of getting physically choked up. Could your crush be affected by the same affliction, or do they simply watch you with pity in their eyes?
- You find yourself in the middle of a jungle with your arms and legs bound up and a gag in your mouth. There is no civilization for miles, and you only have a single knife strapped to your leg. It quickly dawns on you that you are being hunted for sport by manic adrenaline seekers (the hunters) who see you and others like you (the prey) as a delightful challenge. The only goal is to survive — beware of hunters pretending to be prey and beware of prey willing to use you. Or.… are you the hunter?
